Aside from that, the benefits are amazing, the long-term golden handcuffs are real, the faculty are happy and the support you get from the hospital is unparalleled. In addition, most Kaiser hospitals are lower acuity (and not trauma centers) and thus I'm worried about potentially losing on some procedural skills. With Kaiser, all else being equal, upfront pay seems to be significantly less (about 70-100k/yr) plus you're a W2 and not a 1099 so can't deduct anything from your taxes. Trying to not include very specific information but in general was wondering what your thoughts were with Kaiser in particular and one group vs another (and if my below reasoning is correct).
